POSITION SUMMARY
The Circulation Supervisor oversees daily circulation operations, cataloging, and staff/volunteer coordination. This position serves as the manager in charge in the absence of the Library Director and ensures efficient library services and patron support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees daily circulation operations, including check-in/check-out, holds, patron accounts, and fine processing.
Supervises shelving and maintains organization, accuracy, and availability of library materials.
Provides patron assistance with library services, resources, and basic technology support.
Supervises, trains, and schedules circulation staff and volunteers; maintains related records.
Serves as manager in charge in the absence of the Library Director and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
Performs cataloging and processing of materials, including classification, database entry, and physical preparation.
Maintains catalog accuracy and assists with inventory control and weeding of materials.
Coordinates Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and consortium requests, including tracking and shipment of materials.
Compiles statistics and maintains records related to circulation, inventory, and operations.
Supports library programs, displays, and general operations; reports missing or damaged materials.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Participates in library events and community engagement.
- Assists with inventory and collection accuracy.
- Provides support across library operations as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong leadership and customer service skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of library systems (Evergreen, OCLC, WorldCat) preferred.
- Familiarity with cataloging standards (MARC, RDA).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Library or customer service experience.
1-2 years of supervisory experience.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
