BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for guests’ first and last impressions of Cleburne’s Booker T. Washington Recreation Center experience. This individual is responsible for signing people up for memberships and day passes, as well as dealing with any guest needs. Responsible for opening/ closing procedures, facility bookings, and selling/renting other Parks and Recreation facilities of the City of Cleburne.
This is a non-supervisory position that may involve some independent judgment. Duties include performing clerical work that requires the application of various complex work methods and procedures, in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the employing department, as well as its functions, policies, and practices.
Requirements
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of fitness and exercise equipment
- Knowledge of the physical layout of the Recreation Center
- Knowledge of all rules and City Ordinances
- Ability to work with a variety of guests by completing various tasks
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and ask for clarification when needed
- Ability to establish and maintain files and records
- Ability to solve guest service items through verbal and written communication, while seeking assistance when needed.
- Must display initiative and diligence in work performance
- Must be an independent, self-starter, and be able to listen to citizen complaints and concerns
- Must be able to keep sensitive information confidential
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent; OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, and CPR with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification
A Valid Class C Texas driver's license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
Ability to obtain a food handlers certification within three (3) months
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS:
Primarily in an indoor environment with the ability to operate outdoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during the summer and winter months.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Standard office equipment, including a multi-line telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, shredder, and printer, as well as health and fitness equipment such as free weights, a treadmill, an elliptical, and weight circuit machines, etc.
