We are seeking an experienced Municipal Attorney with a minimum of 8 years of experience in general municipal law.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling general municipal law matters and the ability to foster strong working relationships with a broad and diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on all aspects of municipal law for cities and towns of all sizes
• Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, policies, meeting agendas, and other general administrative documents
• Draft and review legal documents and contracts covering all areas of municipal operations, including contracts for professional services, construction services, consultants, real estate transactions, and economic development incentives
• Attend at least one (1) evening meeting per week (virtual or in-person as required by the client)
• Research legal issues and prepare written advice and opinions
• Collaborate with city councils, boards, and city staff on day-to-day operational matters
• Communicate effectively with clients in a respectful manner
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and be flexible with work schedule to accommodate urgent client needs
• Perform other related duties as may be required

Minimum Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar.
• Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal law
• Broad understanding of Texas municipal law, including experience with open meetings, open records, contracts, procurement, elections, planning & land use
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fully remote setting
• Willingness to attend evening meetings at least once per week

Compensation and Benefits:
