Job Title: Municipal Attorney (Remote)
Experience Level: 6+ years in General Municipal Law
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Municipal Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of experience in general municipal law. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling general municipal law matters and the ability to foster strong working relationships with a broad and diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Advise on all aspects of municipal law for cities and towns of all sizes
Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, policies, meeting agendas, and other general administrative documents
Draft and review legal documents and contracts covering all areas of municipal operations, including contracts for professional services, construction services, consultants, real estate transactions, and economic development incentives
Attend at least one (1) evening meeting per week (virtual or in-person as required by the client)
Research legal issues and prepare written advice and opinions
Collaborate with city councils, boards, and city staff on day-to-day operational matters
Communicate effectively with clients in a respectful manner
Ability to adapt to changing situations and be flexible with work schedule to accommodate urgent client needs
Perform other related duties as may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar.
Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal law
Broad understanding of Texas municipal law, including experience with open meetings, open records, contracts, procurement, elections, planning & land use
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a fully remote setting
Willingness to handle municipal court dockets as either a backup or primary prosecutor
Willingness to attend evening meetings at least once per week
