Description
Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to provide specialized administrative and office support for the Recreation division of the Parks and Recreation department.
Essential Functions:

- Provides general office administrative support as directed.
- Responds to customers by providing routine information, answering questions and referring customers to appropriate resources.
- Reviews, prepares and/or screens correspondence.
- Prepares agendas, marketing materials, notices, newsletters, and documents related to assigned areas.
- Maintains records and retains documents according to retention procedures.
- Researches data and prepare, updates and generates reports.
- May process payroll and accounts payables.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
When Assigned to the Recreation Division:
- Assists with daily operations of the Recreation and Senior Center as needed.
- Utilize department software systems (i.e. Tyler Munis, Active Net) to perform necessary duties.
- Maintains yearly budgets for Parks and Recreation leadership as assigned. Receives, processes, pays all invoices, contracts and maintains renewal calendar and appropriate files for departmental leadership.
- Assist in monitoring and maintenance of specialized reports, including but not limited to, program data, volunteer data including processing and retention, participation and facility usage data, etc.
- Assists with planning, preparing and working recreation/senior programs and events. This may include purchasing items, set-up, take-down, and/or inventory and storage of materials. Money may be handled while performing these duties.
- Provides back-up support for departmental needs by monitoring scheduled programs onsite and offsite during seasonal play. Be a department representative during peak programming.
Requirements
- Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one (1) year of college and one (1) year of experience providing administrative office support or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.
