The Coolidge Police Department in partnership with Coolidge ISD is currently accepting applications for a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the 2026-2027 school year.
Current Pay Rate - $62,400/yr. $30.00/hr. – starting pay

Requirements
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must hold a current Texas Peace Officer license issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Must hold a valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
Must have no prior arrest records for: Never convicted of an offense above Class B misdemeanor, or of a Class B misdemeanor within the last 10 years.
Never convicted or placed on community supervision for an offense involving family violence (as defined in Texas Family Code Chapter 71).
Military applicants must disclose any non-judicial discipline involving the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Must not be currently under indictment for any criminal offense.
Must pass a medical examination and drug screen. The purpose of the medical examination and drug screen is to determine whether the individual is physically sound and free from any defect which may adversely affect the performance of duties appropriate to the type of license or appointment sought and whether the individual shows traces of drug dependency or illegal drug use.
Must pass a Psychological and Emotional Health Examination. Given the nature of law enforcement and the potential consequences to the agency, the individual, and the public, the purpose of the psychological examination is to determine whether the individual is in satisfactory psychological and emotional health to serve as the type of law enforcement officer for which the license or appointment is sought.
The ability to work well with children from K-12 levels and split time between four (Elementary, Intermediate, Jr High, and High School) campuses.
Patrol School Zones during the week and routine patrol work when school is not in session during the summer, school holidays, and / or as needed by the Department.
Work with Coolidge ISD personnel to establish and implement Standard Response Protocol to Emergency Situations. Have/ or Train for knowledge and understanding of protocols regarding the Region 12 Threat assessment Team, Learn and understand protocols for School Threats, and stages of development
Offer verbal instruction to students regarding Standard Response Protocols and Interaction with Law Enforcement Classes.
SRO Certification is preferred. Applicants who are not currently certified will be required to gain certification prior as soon as possible.
Some travel may be required for off campus activities as determined by Coolidge ISD in accordance with the Contractual agreement.
The ability to work or coordinate security for afterhours events may be required as requested by Coolidge ISD Administrative Staff.
Must be able to work effectively with other law enforcement and non-law enforcement personnel during periods of high, medium, and low stress situations.
Must be able to perform law enforcement job functions during emergency situations, inclement weather, and other unsafe conditions.
Must have the ability to maintain the highest personal and professional standards.
Must be able to conduct investigations, field interviews, and police interrogations.
Must be able to perform to required standards in conformance with the rules, standard operating procedures, and policies of the Coolidge Police Department.
Must possess comprehensive knowledge of and ability to interpret Texas Statues, federal laws, and local ordinances.
Must have the ability to write reports, use computers, cell phones and other electronic devices.
Must meet all TCOLE Peace Officer Requirements.
