JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Civic Center Manager, the Administrative & Events Assistant provides complex and confidential administrative support to the Civic Center. Responsibilities may include phone and front desk reception, scheduling of events, executing event contracts, processing payments, reviewing mail, organizing, coordinating and preparing for public and staff meetings, drafting correspondence, and assisting with the setup, running, and teardown of department events, as needed, This position will also work with internal city departments to coordinate community events and must be available to work a flexible schedule with various hours including weekends and evenings, based on events and operational needs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Three (3) years of responsible administrative/clerical experience is required
Associates degree, coursework and/or training that demonstrate a commitment to learning and practice in the field of administrative support in business is preferred
Previous experience in a municipal or other governmental agency with similar duties is preferred
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Class C Texas driver's license is required
