Description
Summary
Responsible for placing animals in adoptive homes through responsible matchmaking, counseling, and providing exceptional customer service to prospective adopters.
Pay Range: (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist prospective clients in selecting animals for foster/adoption, preparing related paperwork, and providing information on pet examinations, adoption benefits and relevant policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on animal inventory to ensure suitable matches between animals and adopters.
- Ensure all adopted animals are up to date on vaccinations, preventions, and any current medications are filled and provided.
- Take photographs, write bios for adoptable animals, and upload to the shelter database; Help prepare marketing materials, newsletters, and email blasts for the adoption program.
- Manage adoption-related email inboxes and phone lines, answer questions about available animals, and schedule meet-and-greets.
- Assist with animal care duties as needed; Clean assigned areas daily and maintain cleanliness of animal pods and public areas during adoption hours.
- Record payments for adoptions, donations, and merchandise, enter accurate information and maintain confidentiality of customer and donor information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have animal handling and training experience.
- Ability to work with cats, dogs, and other pet species.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers, to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
Possible exposure to odors, airborne particles, and moderate to high noise levels. - Ability to work over 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week, adjust hours for training schedules, and drive to different locations as needed.
