Description

Duties include overseeing the daily operations of the animal shelter; supervising staff, volunteers, and community service workers assigned to the shelter; ensuring consistent implementation of shelter protocols and a high standard of animal care; issuing citations for code violations and making court appearances as required; coordinating the transfer and placement of animals with approved rescue and placement partners; supporting and guiding the Lead Animal Care Technician and Outreach Coordinator in rescue-related activities; and assisting with the development, training, scheduling, and overall engagement of shelter volunteers. Additional responsibilities include providing assistance with animal adoptions, reclamations, and euthanasia; responding to inquiries and providing information to the public, city departments, and partner agencies; ensuring accurate record-keeping; and compiling related reports. 

PAY GRADE GG20 / FULL PAY RANGE $5,109 - $7,198 PER MONTH

Requirements

An Associate degree, or equivalent, and three years of experience in animal control or a related field, with one year of supervisory experience required. Must have knowledge of animal services ordinances. Must also have, or obtain within the specified timeframe, Animal Control Officer certification and euthanasia certification.
