- Asset Management Coordinator
Description
Responsible for designing, developing and implementing infrastructure asset management program for the City of Denton (the City) Parks and Recreation Department, evaluating holistic life cycle costs while providing the desired levels of service at acceptable risk levels for Parks and Recreation assets. Coordinate with Department managers the resolution of asset work orders.

DUTIES
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all Parks & Recreation assets including, but not limited to, parks, trails, playgrounds, irrigation systems, vehicles, and facilities and all associated geospatial datasets.
- Ensure accurate asset records in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems, including location, condition, lifecycle stage, and maintenance history.
- Define and enforce data standards, including, but not limited to, schemas, domains, subtypes, asset IDs, coordinate systems, and metadata.
- Coordinate the geo-enabled work order management system, integrating GIS with CMMS.
- Decide the appropriate architecture for relational databases, performing regular data audits and updates for compliance with the City standards.
- Conduct data quality assurance and quality control, checking topology of shapefiles and duplications of data, fixing geometry, and validating attributes.
- Coordinate the creation and implementation of Department work sequences, short and long-term scheduling and planning for asset maintenance, and identification of assets nearing end of life; track completion rates.
- Create maps, dashboards, and reports for leadership showing asset performance, maintenance activities, and capital planning.
- Conduct spatial analyses for service coverage, equity, and risk, including, but not limited to, 10-Minute Walk, service areas, and zones of interest.
- Support long-term planning by identifying assets nearing end-of-life.
- Provide spatial and financial analysis for capital improvement projects.
- Assist in prioritizing projects based on condition, usage, and equity goals.
- Configure and deploy mobile GIS tools, including, but not limited to, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123 for asset inspections and condition assessments.
- Provide end-user training for troubleshooting and support of the CMMS, enterprise asset management (EAM) system, ArcGIS, and any applicable technical systems for asset maintenance.
- Stay up to date on asset management best practices and industry solutions to provide input on available upgrades where improvements are warranted; work with vendors and Technology Services Department to troubleshoot software issues.
- Maintain a working knowledge of park maintenance and operations functions.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Asset Management, or related field; and,
- Two (2) years’ experience in software code, database management, or related field; and,
- Must have or obtain a valid Asset Management certification from within one (1) year of employment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law).
- Must have or obtain and maintain a valid Asset Management certification from within one (1) year of employment.
- Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, employment history verification, and social security number verification.
