JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Assistant City Manager/CFO, the Assistant Finance Director assists in managing the City’s fiscal matters. The role is responsible for banking transactions, accounting systems, and the annual audit process. Additional responsibilities include assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, preparing financial data and analyses, and supervising Finance Department staff. Job Posting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a professional general or governmental accounting role; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a Certified Government Financial Officer (CGFO) is strongly preferred. Candidates without these qualifications must be willing to obtain one within two years of hire or promotion.
