Hawks Creek Golf Club is owned and operated by the City of Westworth Village. This Club is the former Carswell Air Force Base Golf Course. It is an 18-hole championship golf course, renovated in 2000 and reopened in 2002. It plays 6847 from back tees and requires control of tee shots for strategic play. There is full driving range and short game area with practice green. Westworth Village is located on western edge of Fort Worth, across from Shady Oaks Country Club.
Under general supervision of the Head Professional, this position performs a variety of duties involved in assisting management the golf course’s day-to-day activities. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Achieving sales targets
- Overseeing the day to day operation of the golf facility (handling complaints, up-selling products, club fittings, product information)
- Responsible for the golf shop professional image (merchandising, inventory control)
- Organizing and running golf tournaments and special events
- Conduct golf lessons for individuals, groups, and juniors
- Manage customer relations including the overall customer experience
- A varied schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Requirements
Education, Certification and Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- The following Certifications/Experiences are preferred
- PGA Associate or starting program within 6 months
- Experience with golf POS and reservations systems
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Prior Golf Course Experience
- Golf Shop Merchandise experience
- Golf Tournament experience
- Minimum 3 Years Golf Course Experience (including at least 1 year of Outside Services)
- Effective telephone and communication skills
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to receive and give verbal instructions clearly and effectively
- High degree of professionalism and a commitment to excellence
- Creative in developing unique programs and ideas
- Detail oriented individual and able to prioritize work, managing multiple tasks
- Self starter where little supervision is required to accomplish tasks
- Ability to pass a background investigation, drug screen, and physical
- Possession of a Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Duties are generally performed within the city limits primarily in the Pro Shop at the golf course. On occasions, there will be times that services are to be performed outside the city.
- Ability to see and hear at normal levels with or without devices.
- Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity, strength and proficiency required perform equipment maintenance.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to crouch and/or stoop and ability to rise, kneel and crawl.
- Ability to twist upper body while working in difficult spaces with arms and hands extended.
- Ability to manipulate, pick up and carry 75 pounds for a distance of at least 10 feet; to truck bed height.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions involving heat and cold
- Ability to climb up and down a ladder, while reaching above head, etc.
