Description
SUMMARY
Plans, promotes, organizes, and implements adult recreation programs. Administers the Bedford Senior Activity Center programs by organizing recreational classes, trips, and special events. Provides administrative and clerical support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, promotes, solicits sponsors and donations, requests volunteers, and supervises senior programs and special events.
Provides excellent customer service to the public and City personnel with routine matters. Complete the day-to-day front office operations to include answering incoming calls, greeting visitors, answering questions or routing calls to appropriate employees.
Gathers and tabulates information and prepares collection reports, monthly reports, and other routine administrative tasks.
Processes accounts payable transactions weekly to ensure vendors and instructors are paid on a timely basis. This includes reviewing invoices and distributing to appropriate personnel for approval, submitting payment, and filing payment records.
Utilizes and maintains a working knowledge of Active Net to complete program registrations, memberships, ticket sales, and facility reservations. Handles cash and prepares daily deposits by processing, documenting, and reporting.
Maintains the building by cleaning and general daily upkeep. Including the set-up and take down of various events and programming.
Responsible for all evening activities held at the Senior Center.
May perform other assignments and handle special projects as required.
Regular and timely attendance is required, as well as the ability to get along with others in a professional and cordial manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree plus three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Certified in CPR, required
SPECIALIZED KSA’S
Working knowledge of computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Power point and other relevant programs, and operation of various office equipment such as printers, fax machines, and copiers.
