Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, employee IS responsible for assisting In the development of the City's annual budget and in the development of budget priorities and processes, performing detailed analysis of departmental revenue, expenditures, and budget requests, and assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts and departmental analyses.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor Budget status of all operating and capital funds, monitor budget performance, and participate In revenue and cost projections
Analyzes, researches and verifies previous years financial data for other City departments In the preparation of final annual budget
Research, reconcile, and correct any differences In detail revenue and other City departmental budgets
Provide detailed analysis of departmental budget requests by working closely With key departmental leaders.
Composes and distributes forms to other departments within the City for preparation of annual budget
Reconciles bank statements on a monthly basis.
Compiles, organizes, and prepares annual worksheets and spreadsheets for auditors in an accurate and timely manner Assists In annual audit report preparation and answers auditor questions on internal control issues In an accurate and timely manner
Reconciles and audits various financial data to the general ledger.
Prepares various adjusting Journal entries on a monthly basis to be entered into computer system.
Composes, types, copes and files various types of reports, memos, and letters in an accurate and timely manner
Provide back-up other accounting processes as necessary
Requirements
Above knowledge and skill may be gamed by associate's degree AND successful completion of 12 hours of college level accounting courses AND two years' experience performing accounting duties preferable in government accounting OR by any combination of training and experience leading to the described level of knowledge and skill.
Must have valid Texas Driver's License and driving record must meet or surpass guidelines as set forth by the City.
