Description
Responsible for the ongoing analysis, development, improvement, and maintenance of division applications and systems to support division strategies and outcomes. Utilize analytical processes to evaluate and provide data reports on internal stakeholder projects and processes to deliver business intelligence and strategic recommendations.

DUTIES
- Acts as lead for new project initiative and coordinate with Technology Services on back-end configuration changes; works as a facilitator of projects and process development for all aspects of the assigned systems and act as technical resource to division.
- Compile, audit, analyze, translate, and ensure data is reliable and valid; provide business data reports to support division strategies and objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify business needs; support business solution implementation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations, design, and implement process changes, and monitor progress and provide results.
- Identify and work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve application issues with assigned software; troubleshoot and document the issue and its resolution.
- Design, develop, guide, and manage infrastructure asset management programs including the development of concepts, procedures, guidelines, analytical methods, decision-making systems, risk mitigation, data collection, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate new systems and processes with existing ones to ensure systems meet long-term goals and objectives.
- Review, create, maintain, administer, and monitor standard operating procedures, work plans, performance standards and goals, and activities to ensure department/division objectives are achieved; notify leader when data trends do not support identified and/or expected outcomes.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to other department staff.
- Provide end-user training developed processes, software, and systems; ensure users understand the relationship between operational practices and report outputs.
FIRE
- Develop tracking and trending tools to assist with forecasting to ensure achievement of Fire Department performance goals.
- Evaluate new visualization tools, perform research on best practices, as needed.
- Assist in the testing of new versions, products, software upgrades or processes for all modules within reporting systems.
- Identify project tasks; lead and/or assist with project timeline estimations.
- Coordinate projects with internal and external stakeholders and end users for deadline requirements.
- Assist with payroll functions and operations to include but not limited to serving as back-up, as needed.
- Assists with special projects, as needed.
- Serves as back up to other positions, as needed.

- If Electric – Occasional work with surveying and staking equipment.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Lifting no more than 10 pounds.If Electric – Lifting no more than 20 pounds and carrying up to 10 pounds.
- Environment: Works in an office setting office; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.If Customer Service - Works in an office and/or home-office setting with dedicated work area free from interruptions.
- If Electric – Works in an office setting and outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather, noise, chemicals, odor, dust, and rough terrain.
- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours, as needed.If Customer Service - May work from home for as many as 75% of scheduled hours with supervisor approval, based on business necessity.
- If Electric – Must be able to provide 24/7 support for critical electric applications on a rotating shift.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems Business Administration, Business Computer Systems, or related field; and,
- Three (3) years’ experience in application administration, computer programming, data management, information systems, or related field,
OR
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- If Electric - Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)

- If Electric - Must pass a driver’s license check.
