Description
The City of Ralls is seeking a collaborative, servant leader with strong character and a desire to build both external and internal relationships to effectively serve as its City Administrator. The City of Ralls is a Type A General Law with a population of 1,665 according to the 2020 Census. Ralls is governed by a Mayor and a six separately elected Alderman, who employ a city administrator to oversee the day-to-day functions of the city. The City of Ralls is seeking a City Administrator to be the City’s chief administrative officer responsible for planning, managing operations, and leading a skilled city employee workforce. Description of duties includes but not limited to:
- Overseeing daily operations of the city
- Supervising all municipal departments
- Preparing, executing, and adjusting the annual budget
- Enforcing all city ordinances, rules, and regulations
- Overseeing special projects and administering various grant projects
- Managing the city’s funds and preparing monthly reports that advise the council and the general public of the city’s financial condition
- Providing information to the council to facilitate its ability to make informed decisions in the best interests of the city
- Providing council meeting agendas and attendance at all such meetings to serve as a resource to the council and public
Requirements
This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field as well as a minimum of two years of experience in an executive or management level position. Ideally, candidates will have at least three years of experience as a city administrator/manager, deputy city administrator/manager, or assistant city administrator/manager. Candidates must also have or be able to obtain a Texas driver’s license and must be bondable. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the responsibilities of the position may be considered.
