Description
Job Brief: This position is responsible for providing first-party property claim service to members.
Description: It involves managing claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring thorough documentation, and communicating effectively with all parties involved.
Required Responsibilities*
- Investigates Member property claims by reviewing coverage, setting reserves, confirming liability, and assessing damages to ensure fair and timely resolution.
- Maintains accurate and complete records for all assigned claims, documenting actions and communications in the claim management system.
- Evaluates documentation and correspondence related to coverage, liability, and damages; prepares releases, processes payments, and issues Reservation of Rights letters when applicable.
- Communicates with Members, vendors, contractors, independent adjusters, and other involved parties to gather information, provide updates, and facilitate claim resolution.
- Reviews reports and supporting documentation from independent adjusters, appraisers, and Members to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
- Coordinates with internal partners such as Underwriting, Loss Prevention, Subrogation, and Legal to ensure effective claim handling and resolution.
- Provides guidance to Members on claim inquiries and coverage questions, ensuring professional and responsive customer service.
- Supports catastrophe operations and workload surges as needed, which may include working irregular hours during major events or high-volume periods.

Physical Requirements
- Be able to withstand typical office work that includes periods of sitting, standing, typing, etc. indoors.
- In addition to typical office work, must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
- Requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, visual inspection, assembly of parts, or extensive reading.
- Climbing ladders, balancing at heights, working in confined spaces and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule to meet business needs and be at work on-site during specified or core hours.
- Must be able to operate standard computer hardware.
Education, Work Experience, Certifications**
Required
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field
- Years of Experience: 2 - 4
- Area of Experience: Claims Processing, Insurance, or related areas
- Active Adjuster License – Texas – Property and Casualty

Essential Competencies and Skills**
Required
- Experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Possess knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations
- Knowledge of insurance principles and the ability to interpret insurance contracts and endorsements to determine coverage eligibility and liability.
- Decision-making, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Proficiency in MS Outlook
- Proficient in Xactimate
- Advanced knowledge of property claims contracts
- Intermediate property construction knowledge
- Experience as a Staff Property Adjuster
