Job Summary:

The Brownfield Police Department Dispatcher will be responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police officers, fire units, EMS, and animal control to the scene, and providing general administrative support to the responding units. This position requires a high level of multitasking, quick thinking, and excellent communication skills to ensure that calls are handled in a timely and efficient manner. .

Job Description:

• Answer incoming calls from the public, assess the situation, and dispatch police officers, fire department, EMS to the           scene as necessary   
• Maintain detailed records of all calls, including case numbers, location, and type of call
• Monitor radio channels and ensure that all police officers assigned to a call are aware of any changes or update
• Perform clerical duties such as filing and data entry

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Excellent communication, multitasking, typing and problem-solving skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm in high-stress situations.
• Have general knowledge of basic office equipment
