Description

The purpose of this position is to assist customers with the permit and application process. This is accomplished by accepting and reviewing various types of applications, verifying information, entering information into the database, providing administrative support and customer service, and registering contractors within the City. Other duties include assisting with Construction Code Appeals Board meetings, preparing meeting minutes and interacting with other City employees and citizens. Qualified candidates who possess an ICC Permit Technician Certification may also review and issue certain types of permits. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Two years’ general clerical experience with one year of direct customer service experience.
• ICC Permit Technician Certification preferred or achieved within one year of employment.
• Obtain a Notary Public Certification within three months of employment if required by supervisor.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
