The City of Stockdale is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Marshal. Applicants must possess a valid license as a law enforcement officer from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (T.C.O.L.E) and must be in good standing with TCOLE, have a high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a Peace Officer is required..
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Deputy Marshal is second in command and responsible for assisting the marshal in planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operations of the department and for the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes; maintains law and order; patrols city; enforces traffic regulation that includes issuing citations; investigating accidents, crimes against property and persons, and complaints; interviewing victims and witnesses; taking affidavits; apprehending persons suspected of crimes; responds to calls for service including disturbances, burglar alarms, traffic and parking violations; serves warrants; writes various reports including offense, accident and arrest reports; checks buildings and stores for security; testifies in court. Performs other duties as required by the Marshal.
Applicants will pass a thorough background investigation and drug test. A Valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record is required. Must be in good physical condition and physically able to perform job duties. Must have good moral character as a role model supervisor and able to cope with situations firmly, courteously and tactfully.

The City of Stockdale offers a competitive benefits package including medical insurance, retirement, paid holidays, sick and vacation leave. Salary contingent on experience and qualifications $19.50 to $24.00 an hour. A complete & current notarized TCOLE Personal History Statement must be received by the City Manager.
