Description
The City of Crandall Police Department is seeking a motivated, professional, and highly ethical police officer to serve as a Police Detective within our Criminal Investigations Division (CID). This position offers the opportunity to investigate felony and misdemeanor crimes, work closely with prosecutors, and make a meaningful impact on the safety and quality of life in our growing community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough criminal investigations involving felony and misdemeanor offenses.
Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects.
Collect, preserve, and analyze evidence.
Prepare search warrants, arrest warrants, and affidavits.
Execute search and arrest warrants.
Maintain detailed investigative reports and case files.
Present cases to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
Testify in municipal, county, and district courts.
Coordinate investigations with local, state, and federal agencies.
Process crime scenes when necessary.
Utilize department technology, databases, drones, and digital evidence platforms.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to major incidents after hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Texas Peace Officer License.
Minimum of five (5) years of full time police officer experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of criminal investigation experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong investigative, analytical, and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
Valid Texas Driver License.
Ability to pass all required background, medical, and departmental standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Criminal Investigation experience.
Specialized investigative training.
Experience preparing search warrants and courtroom testimony.
Training in digital evidence, interview and interrogation, or crime scene investigations.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience / $74k - $84k per year.
