Description
The Trenton Police Department is currently seeking dedicated professional individuals to join our team in protecting and serving our community, one of the fastest growing cities in Fannin County. We are committed to maintaining public safety and building strong relationships with our residents and stakeholders.
Primary Duties
-Patrol & Enforcement: Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service while enforcing city ordinances and state laws.
-Investigation: Conduct preliminary investigations at crime scenes and process evidence.
-Public Safety: Perform traffic stops, manage crowd control at events, and assist stranded motorists.
-Documentation: Prepare detailed incident reports and testify in court proceedings.
Personal History Statement must be submitted to the Trenton Police Department to be considered for the position it can be obtained from the Trenton Police Department, 216 Hamilton Trenton TX 75490. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a Personal History Statement.
The officer will work SHIFT WORK, HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS. The duties will include patrolling within the City limits as well as the ETJ, and filling in where they may be needed.
Preferred candidate will live within 15 to 20 minutes of the City Limits. There will be a requirement of being on-call.
Compensation & Benefits
-Starting Salary: $50,000 per year ($24.04 per hour) for Certified Officer.
-Retirement: Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS).
-Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
-Vacation Hours: 120 hours per year
-Sick Leave: 144 hours per year
-Equipment: All necessary uniforms, firearms, and duty equipment provided.
-Training: Ongoing TCOLE-certified training and professional development.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
-Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
-Education: High school diploma or GED.
-Licensing: Valid Texas Driver’s License and TCOLE Basic Peace Officer certification.
-Background: Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a criminal history check and drug screening.
-Physical Fitness: Ability to perform essential law enforcement duties, including patrol and physical restraints.
