This includes performing the full range of grounds maintenance: rakes, edges and trims lawns, trims trees, waters and weeds shrub and flower beds and assists at City-sponsored events when needed. This position operates power edgers, and other small grounds maintenance equipment; monitors irrigation systems. Operates various sprayers to apply chemicals for the control of weeds; uses knowledge of fertilizer formulations for use in spreaders and or other proper fertilizer applicators. <ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;" data-pasted="true"><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Operates weed eaters, rakes, blowers, planting plants, pulls weeds, and cleans in/around 42 parks and medians</li><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Loads equipment, pole saw, weed eater, blower, hedger, chainsaw, generator, on truck and trailer for job to be completed, and may drive to locations.</li><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Prunes and removes dead or damaged trees and shrubs.</li><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Minor playground assembly and concrete work.</li><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Prepares for special events, Christmas, tournaments, Special Olympics, and July 4th etc.</li><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Performs preventative maintenance including checking and changing oil and minor repair of equipment including vehicle, pole saw, chain saw, blower, and weed- eater.</li><li style=" padding: 0px; margin: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Performs all other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>
