Description
This position requires an advanced level of technical knowledge and skills so as to perform its responsibilities with minimal guidance. Duties include radio code plug creation and training; diagnostic troubleshooting, system installation, repair, configuration and maintenance of the City's public safety two-way communications network, microwave network, fiber network, transport network and outdoor Wi-Fi network; providing technical support to potential system partners or users; and also provides support for ancillary systems including but not limited to the early warning system, fire station alerting, radio recording system, CBRS network, CNWave Network and conventional RF systems. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major course work in computer science, information systems or a closely related field and three years of job related work experience in radio and wide area or metro area communications equipment and systems or a similar field required. NIMS 100-200-400-700-800 training will also be required. Candidates will be subject to a CJIS criminal history check and must not have any criminal conviction above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered. PAY GRADE IT26 / FULL PAY RANGE $7,525 - $10,611 PER MONTH
