Description
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications from experienced Texas Peace Officers for a Deputy position assigned to provide dedicated patrol coverage to the City of Paradise and the City of New Fairview.
This is a Wise County Sheriff’s Office position, with compensation and employment provided through standard Wise County payroll and personnel processes. The Sheriff’s Office assigns one full-time deputy to serve both cities for a total of 86 hours per two-week period. On average, the deputy will work approximately 20 hours per week in each city.
Schedule and Assignment Details
This position follows the Panama shift schedule providing rotating 3-day weekends, with some flexibility in hours; however, most shifts will occur between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Patrol responsibilities will alternate between Paradise and New Fairview, and the assigned deputy will handle calls for service within each city’s jurisdiction. The deputy will also attend city meetings as requested and participate in special events.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and adapt to the evolving needs of both communities. This assignment is a highly visible role and provides an opportunity to build strong working relationships with city leadership, residents, and local businesses while representing the Wise County Sheriff’s Office.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Neighborhood patrols and proactive presence
Business checks and business patrols
Traffic enforcement
Crime prevention initiatives and community engagement
Responding to and documenting calls for service
Maintaining accurate, detailed documentation of all work activities, including self-initiated calls
Attending city meetings and participating in community events as requested

TCOLE Peace Officer Intermediate Certificate
Pass background
