Description
The City of Hamlin, a Type A General-Law municipality operating under Chapter 29 of the Texas Government Code, is accepting applications for a Part-Time Municipal Court Clerk. This position performs responsible clerical, administrative, and financial duties in support of the Hamlin Municipal Court and ensures compliance with applicable Texas statutes, including the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and reporting requirements of the Texas Office of Court Administration (OCA).
This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual with strong financial reconciliation skills and the ability to work independently in a small municipal office setting.
Requirements
Maintain official municipal court records in accordance with Texas law
Process citations, complaints, dockets, and warrants
Collect fines, fees, court costs, and bond payments
Reconcile court funds and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare and submit required monthly and quarterly reports to the Texas Office of Court Administration
Submit case disposition and conviction data to the Texas Department of Public Safety
Issue subpoenas, warrants, and other court documents as directed by the Municipal Judge
Assist the public, defendants, attorneys, and law enforcement professionally and courteously
Maintain confidentiality of court records
Prepare court dockets and coordinate court sessions
Perform related duties as assigned
