Eastland Police Department is accepting applications for a police officer. Eastland is located 90 miles West of Ft. Worth and 60 miles East of Abilene along Interstate 20. Eastland is the county seat of Eastland County and our community is around 4000 people with daytime population rising to 7-8 thousand. The department consists of 12 full time sworn officers and 3 civilians. We are pro-active and the community is pro law enforcement. We have a great working relationship with other departments in the county. We get along great with each other and are more like family than coworkers. We are not that far from the big cities and we still have the small-town benefits. Eastland has great schools and sports programs. Awesome hunting and fishing. What a great place to raise a family. We require that you currently have already been through an academy and have a Peace Officer license for the State of Texas. You must also be in good standing with TCOLE and your current or previous departments. We will train TCOLE certified officers without previous experience.
Starting Salary - $54,800
$2400 dollar sign on bonus
Officer Step Pay Scale
Officer I (1-5 Years) $54,808
Officer II (5-10 Years) $57,408
Officer III (10-15 Years) $60,008
Officer IIII (15+ Years) $62,608
Certificate pay - $50 a month per certificate (Intermediate, Advanced, Master)
Retirement – 5 % TMRS 2:1 – 5-year vestment
