Description
Responsible for dispatching Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services. Receive and relay information to appropriate agencies by using: telephone, two way radio, CAD dispatch system, TDY, and computers. Other duties include maintaining knowledge of communication regulations and rules, entering information into federal, state and local databases, maintaining various logs, files, and official records. Employee must be available to work various shifts, including holidays and weekends. Prior dispatching and computer experience is preferred but not required.
Requirements
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task; Working knowledge of computers, dispatching equipment, and office practices and procedures. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a current, valid Texas drivers license.
Basic Telecommunicator and NCIC/TCIC certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date.
Candidates MUST successfully complete background check (including driving/criminal history), drug screening and pre-employment physical.
