Description
The Town of Pantego is currently seeking qualified applicants for a non-certified full-time Police Officer. The Town of Pantego is located adjacent to West Arlington in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. The Pantego Police Department serves a population of approximately 2,650 residents and a daytime business population of over 20,000. Department Divisions include Patrol, Traffic Enforcement, Criminal Investigations and Communications.
Compensation:
Starting salary is $60,000. Paid Bi-weekly with paid overtime if necessary; paid training, paid vacation, paid sick leave, holiday compensation, 24 hours of personal time, and 8 hours of a floating holiday. In addition, employee paid medical/dental/vision insurance. Including TMRS participation of 7% with 2/1 match; five (5) year vesting and 20-year TMRS retirement.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Pantego Police Department is to effectively and efficiently fulfill the public safety expectations of the citizens of the Town of Pantego.
HOURS:
12-hour shifts with alternating weekends off, (scheduled as needed, nights, weekends, and holidays)
REPORTS TO:
Patrol Sergeant
INDIVIDUALLY ISSUED EQUIPMENT:
- AR-15 Rifle with Optics
- Glock 45 pistol with night sights and weapon light
- Safariland leather gear with level 3 holster
- Various custom-designed professional polo shirts, t-shirts, beanies, etc.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
Must be a United States Citizen
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License or be able to obtain
Must be declared physically sound and free from any defect which may adversely affect the performance of the duties of a police officer
Must pass an extensive background check, psychological, medical exam, and drug screen
Must be able to successfully complete the Town of Pantego Police Department's field training program; training time based on experience
Must NOT have been discharged from any military service under less than honorable conditions, specifically: Under other than honorable conditions; bad conduct, dishonorable; or any other characterization service indicating bad behavior
Must NOT violate any TCOLE rule or provision of Occupation Code, Chapter 1701
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Must possess the visual acuity to operate a computer terminal and city vehicle
Walk, stand, sit, or run for prolonged periods of time
Regularly push, pull, lift, and/or carry up 10 pounds
Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds or more
Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard
