Description
The Crandall Police Department is currently accepting resumes for a fulltime Patrol Officer. The Crandall Police Department is a department of 25 full-time and 2 Police Reserve Officers. Crandall is located on U.S. 175 approximately 20 miles East of Dallas, in Kaufman County. The Crandall Police Department provides police services to a population of approximately 15,000 residents within the City Limits and ETJ of Crandall using a community oriented policing philosophy. Applicants must possess a valid Texas Driver License and hold a current TCOLE Certification with a re-hirable status from all previous agencies or be able to meet all requirements to obtain a TCOLE Certification. Applicants must be available for shift work, which includes weekends and holidays. Applicants whose resumes present minimum qualifications will be instructed on how to obtain an application for the City of Crandall.
Applicants will be required to pass a written test, physical agility test, background check, Polygraph Exam, psychological and medical review as well as other factors that may affect the ability to ethically perform duties as a Police Officer. Applicants who are currently employed as a full-time police officer may be exempt from the physical agility test and polygraph exam.
Starting salary is $59,366.00. The Crandall Police Department has a 12 year step program, applicants can lateral up to step 5 or $69,366.00 depending on experience. Benefits include 12 hour work days with a 4 on 3 off/3 on 4 off pay cycle and also include 14 Holidays and 2 Floating Holidays, PTO and Vacation time. Employees may receive college tuition reimbursement. Employee Health, dental and vision insurance is paid by the city. The City of Crandall pays 2:1 TMRS at 8% and offers an optional 457 plan.
Requirements
Applicants must possess a valid Texas Driver License and a current TCOLE Certification is preferred. Applicants must pass a thorough background check and submit to a drug screen, physical, psychological and polygraph testing. Applicants must be available for shift work, which includes weekends and holidays. Municipal Police experience is preferred.
