Description
Lead, direct, and manage individuals under your supervision to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Assist and guide your subordinates in the performance of their duties. Visit crime scenes, emergencies, and accidents to provide assistance and supervision as needed.
Assign work tasks and oversee, instruct, and supervise sworn personnel assigned to your shift.
Coordinate interactions between patrol operations and the public as necessary.
Review and approve reports submitted by subordinates, ensuring they are accurate, corrected, and properly channeled.
Respond to service calls as needed and assist the public and other city departments when required.
Discuss identified service demands with those under your supervision.
Coordinate plans across neighborhoods and provide feedback to officers and neighborhood groups.
Ensure the efficient use of all resources and procure necessary resources effectively.
Identify training needs to ensure your subordinates can fulfill their job responsibilities.
Keep the command staff informed of relevant matters.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the command staff and the Chief of Police.
Requirements
Current and valid TCOLE peace officer's license; three years of minimum active law enforcement experience with an intermediate certification. Current and valid Texas driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and the ability to pass a psychological and drug screen evaluation.
