Job Description
Assists and provides oversight during Navasota pool rentals, classes, or regular open swim. Performs other duties as assigned by Pool Manager; is available to answer questions about facility; answers the phone and takes care of facility entry payments, reports and receipts. Responsible for petty cash and cash register.
Summary of Duties
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports to: Pool Manager. In the absence of the Pool Manager, work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Manager or Parks and Recreation Specialist.
2. Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
3. Other: Works closely with Parks and Recreation Department and the general public; has contact with other city employees.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Essential Duties
Will unlock building and gates for rentals at contracted time.
Will be available to answer questions from the general public, visitors and pool renters.
Will check area prior to rental to ascertain that grounds are in good condition.
Will attempt to rectify any area that is not in good condition or reported.
Will handle cash and credit cards for entry fees.
Must have customer service skills and basic math skills.
Ensures the pool office is clean and presentable at all times.
Other Important Duties
Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Skill/Ability to: Skill to communicate in a customer-friendly and helpful manner. Ability to follow written and oral directions; establish and maintain effective working relationships; communicate effectively and tactfully with the public; read warning signs, labels and devices. Lift and carry 30 pounds and push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds of tables and chairs on carts. Sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to perform various cleaning duties as assigned. Works outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. Reports all unusual situations to the Pool Manager.
Qualifications
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High school graduation, or its equivalent, or currently attending high school.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Appropriate Texas Driver License or available alternative means of transportation.
American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED *Preferred*
