The Public Works Program Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to one of the City’s largest departments, serving as a key liaison between the Public Works Operations office and its multiple divisions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of daily services by supporting a significant number of employees who perform essential work for the community. With limited administrative support positions within Public Works Operations, the Programs Assistant is foundational to the department’s overall effectiveness.
Responsibilities include handling dispatch and customer inquiries, coordinating and tracking operational requests, and maintaining and monitoring enterprise systems such as VUEWorks. The Programs Assistant analyzes, interprets, and reports data from these systems, responds to customer questions and complaints, and performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to ensure workflows remain organized, accurate, and efficient across all divisions
