Full-time Water & Wastewater Operator / Public Works Supervisor. Salary dependent on qualifications and includes health insurance, TMRS retirement at a 2:1 match, paid leave and holidays. This position is open until filled.

Job description:

The successful applicant will be responsible to the City of Granger Council and will oversee the water plant, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment plant operations. This position is physically demanding and requires unhindered physical agility in order to supply safe drinking water. This position will train and supervise 4+ individuals. In addition, duties include working with contractors and vendors to ensure successful operation of the water/wastewater system. The selected applicant will manage and prepare an annual operating budget. Regular attendance at the city council meetings is mandatory and monthly reports are expected at the meetings.

Essential Duties:

• Operate & Maintain Heavy Equipment
• Repair and/or replace broken water lines, wastewater lines, pumps, and any other equipment as needed.
• Plan for system wide upgrades to replace old infrastructure.
• Collect and deliver system monitoring data to state and federal agencies.
• Implement and follow OSHA and TCEQ policies for the safe operation of water & wastewater treatment facilities.
• Assign and monitor work orders to ensure street and park maintenance is efficiently and safely executed.

Minimum Required Licenses:

• TCEQ Class C Water Treatment
• TCEQ Class C Wastewater Treatment
• Valid Texas Driver’s License

Preferred Skills & Education:

• Class B Water & Class B Wastewater
• Six years of professional experience in water/wastewater operations
• Three years of supervisory experience
• Leadership training
