- Public Works Superintendent
Description
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works, provides technical research, planning, and management of projects; provides administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director of Public Works. Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of general, scheduled, and/or preventative maintenance of all City property, vehicles, and equipment. Responsible for administering and overseeing training for streets, water, and maintenance crews, and ensuring training is up-to-date and in compliance. Responsible for administering and managing the City’s grant program as it pertains to public works. Responsible for related work as required.
SALARY:
- $31.25 - $38.45; Depending on Qualifications/Experience. Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position.

- Participation in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) 7% and 2:1 match.
- Voluntary Participation in 457 Deferred Compensation Plan and Supplemental Insurance Plans.
- Applicable Certification Pay.
- Longevity Pay after one-year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, public administration, or closely related field in Public Works; or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and years of work experience.
- Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a Public Works Department.
- Must have two (2) years of supervisory experience in the Public Works Department or related field.
- Must be able to use office technology, computer, and various software programs.
- Must have a valid Texas Drivers’ License with CDL-Class B Endorsement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extra consideration will be given to applicants who have Texas Driver’s License with CDL-Class A Endorsement.
- Certified Entry Level Driver Training Instructor for CDL-Class B.
- Certifications in Public Works field.
- Other applicable TCEQ Certifications.
