Description

The Poteet Police Department is seeking dedicated Reserve Police Officers to support frontline public safety operations. Reserve Officers work under the direction of fulltime staff to enforce Texas laws, uphold departmental policies, and protect the safety and security of the Poteet community. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to highstress situations.

Patrol assigned areas to deter crime, enforce laws, and respond to calls for service.

Assist with criminal, traffic, and incident investigations; prepare reports and support case presentation in court.

Execute and assist with search and arrest warrants; arrest, process, and transport offenders.

Respond to emergencies, crashes, critical incidents, and disasters; provide first aid and assist injured persons.

Support crowd control, traffic direction, and strandedmotorist assistance.

Help identify suspects, seize contraband, and support efforts to disrupt criminal activity.

Maintain proficiency with firearms, defensive tactics, and issued equipment.

Provide public information, answer inquiries, and participate in community safety programs.

Work irregular hours, extended shifts, and handle exposure to traumatic or highstress situations as needed.

Requirements

Knowledge of Texas criminal and traffic laws, law enforcement procedures, evidence handling, and court processes.

Proficiency with firearms, defensive tactics, and emergency response techniques.

Ability to operate law enforcement vehicles and equipment safely.

Strong communication, decisionmaking, and problemsolving skills under stress.

Ability to interact professionally with individuals experiencing mental or emotional crises.
