Job Summary:
The Strategic Services Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the City’s innovation, performance management, and strategic planning efforts. This position works closely with departments across the organization to implement performance metrics, lead process improvement initiatives, and promote a data-driven culture aligned with Kerrville’s long-term strategic goals. Under the direction of the Director of Innovation and Technology, the position contributes to the development and maintenance of performance dashboards, coordinates citywide strategic programs, and supports key organizational development initiatives.
A critical component of this role includes ensuring data hygiene by promoting consistency, accuracy, and reliability in data collection and reporting across departments, as well as coordinating the development and alignment of departmental business plans with citywide strategic goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with departments to understand their needs and translate them into functional requirements
- Analyze internal processes to identify areas of operational improvement and provide data-backed recommendations to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Coordinate citywide strategic planning activities and facilitate the development of department business plans and key performance indicators
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance system integration through the use of APIs and other interoperability tools
- Design and implement dashboards for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), accessible to internal teams and the public, providing critical data for strategic decision making
- Conduct benchmarking analysis, budget reviews, and strategic plan reviews to support the City’s measurement programs
- Coach department staff in the development of goals, measures, and performance tracking tools; deliver performance and data analysis training as needed
- Prepare reports and presentations for City Council, Senior Executive Team and Leadership
- Participates in systems analysis, needs assessments and requirement definition studies
- Manages organizational development programs for the City such as Leadership Academy
- Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Performs additional job-related duties, within reason and capabilities, as directed
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Duties are generally performed in an office setting. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Travel within the community from one city facility to another occurs as necessary.

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Experience in managing projects, utilizing core project management principles and tools
- Proficient in data visualization and dashboard tools such as Power BI
- Knowledge of data hygiene best practices is highly desirable
- Research techniques, methods, and procedures.
- Systems analysis, development, planning, and documentation methods and standards.
- Project management and organization including monitoring time and dollar expenditures for tasks performed.
- Modern office practices and procedures, including equipment utilization
- Requires analytical, research and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent decision-making skills and ability to work well on a team
- Excellent communication, organizational and documentation skills
- Monitor or observe data to determine program problems

- Computers and related software, workstations, printer, copier, scanner, hand tools, computer tools
Education, Certifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Public Administration, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. Other combinations of education and relevant experience may be substituted if deemed equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a data analytics, performance measurement, or similar role involving data interpretation and reporting.
