THIS POSITION WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ONE OF THREE DIVISIONS (UTILITY BILLING / METER SERVICES, FIELD OPERATIONS OR ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE)and will work with various equipment and tools to maintain and repair city utility systems; locating, investigating and repairing interruptions to the water and wastewater systems; completing water quality and dead-end main flushing to resolve water quality complaints and to meet regulatory flushing requirements. Duties include utilizing specialized machines to perform maintenance, repair and construction; setting up safety and traffic control systems for repair work; stocking crew trucks and work vehicles; cleaning, servicing and maintaining tools, machinery, equipment and vehicles; preparing daily worksheet of job assignments and materials used; preparing work orders and close-out work orders upon job completion; and responding to service calls concerning emergencies, problems or issues due to inclement weather. This position will require operating equipment in confined areas, on steep slopes, in wet areas and even areas immersed in water or wastewater. Duties vary somewhat dependent on assignment in one or more of the following areas (Field Operations, Billing / Meter Services, or Environmental Compliance.
PAY GRADE GG12 / FULL PAY RANGE $19.80 - $27.92 PER HOUR ($41,184 - $58,080 ANNUALLY) OR
PAY GRADE GG13 / FULL PAY RANGE $20.85 - $29.38 PER HOUR ($43,368 - $61,116 ANNUALLY)

Requirements
Duties will require lifting / moving up to 100 pounds daily. No experience is necessary, but must have a high school diploma or GED. A valid Texas driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one by date of hire, is required. To be hired at the higher pay range, at least one year of related experience is required, and must also have all licenses required for assigned work group. When assigned to Field Operations, a Class A CDL, and TCEQ Class D Water and Wastewater Collection I licenses must be obtained within a specified time frame. When assigned to Billing or Environmental Compliance, both a Class D and a Class C TCEQ Water License must be obtained within the specified time frame. Schedule will include day, evening, and night work, and will also include required participation in the standby rotation for assigned work group.
