Description
SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, responsible for the planning, functional design, and implementation of the Customer Information System (CIS) and all applications integrating with the host system.
Essential Functions:
Develop, document, and maintain application configuration for the Customer Information System and other related applications interacting with the host system;
Assist in the monitoring of system middleware;
Conduct performance analysis and reviews of programs, systems, and the environment as part of an ongoing system and network optimization process.
Responsible for the collection and analysis of data for various departments throughout the City, as well as open record requests;
Conduct interviews to analyze requirements for programs, systems, and automation solutions;
Retrieve data material from the Customer Information and Billing System using various report writing tools: Oracle BI Publisher, SQL preferred;
Ability to use Microsoft Office Products such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access to draft and or compile data material;
Understanding of XML, familiar with APIs;
Open Service Requests to document application issues; make recommendations and communicate requirements to the software vendor;
Responsible for thorough testing of software applications for regularly scheduled code updates and emergency patches
Troubleshoot batch-related errors and provide input to the Supervisory team for resolution;
Provide on-call support as needed to ensure the timely resolution of system issues outside of regular business hours:
Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related field. Candidate must have at least two years of their work experience about maintaining computer applications configurations, which provides the following:
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of; Management information systems and computer applications;
Software for customer information and billing (Oracle CCS), Microsoft Office products, SQL, BI Publisher and Oracle data bases with the ability to retrieve data and analyze;
Principles and practices of effective communication, both written and verbal;
Cloud-based and/or SaaS environments;
Ability/Skill to; Ability to set up and execute test scenarios to test software applications;
Maintain appropriate documentation of issues to be resolved and test results obtained;
Make definitive decisions regarding application setup, system rules, and validation to ensure effective business practices;
Ability to understand and communicate technical release notes;
Physical Requirements;
Frequently stand and walk;
Frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds;
Frequently flex upper trunk forward, while flexing partially at the knees;
Frequently push or pull objects;
Frequently reach above, at, or below shoulder height;
Continuously talk, see, and hear;
Continuously sit for extended periods of time.
