The City of Lampasas is currently accepting applications for a W/WW Utility Distribution/Collection Technician.  

Summary of Position

Performs a variety of manual and machine-assisted labor tasks related to the cleanliness, maintenance, repair, and installation of city water and wastewater facilities. 

Starting salary is $17.782/hour, DOQ, plus excellent benefits.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

Knowledge of:  the safe operation of the equipment used and of the provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to the operation of such motorized equipment.  

Skill/Ability to:  understand and follow instructions; learn to operate standard maintenance equipment; service and make minor repairs to water/wastewater system, applying safety standards to prevent hazards, tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Acceptable Experience and Training 

o    High school graduation, or its equivalent; plus at least one year of experience in utility services, including water and wastewater services;
o    or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Certificates and Licenses Required 

o    Valid Texas Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) or the ability to obtain within 2 years; 
o    Ability to obtain a Class II Wastewater Collections license within 3 years;
o    Ability to obtain a Class C Water Distribution license within 3 years
