Animal Shelter Technician – City of Odessa
Full-Time | Shifts include weekends and holidays

The City of Odessa is seeking a reliable and compassionate Animal Shelter Technician to join our Animal Control team. This role involves daily care of shelter animals, including feeding, cleaning, and handling, as well as assisting with veterinary procedures such as vaccinations and microchipping.

Key Duties:
Feed and care for a variety of animals, including livestock
Clean and disinfect kennels and facilities
Assist with adoptions, intake, and euthanasia procedures
Maintain Shelter/ Medical records and monitor supply inventory
Operate shelter equipment, including crematory, testing, and communication systems

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Animal handling experience preferred
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Euthanasia Certification (or obtain within 120 days)
Pre-rabies vaccination required upon hire
