Job Title: Chief of Police 

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: City Administrator

Salary: DOE

Benefits: Health/Vision/Dental paid by employer (employee only), Vacation and Sick Pay, TMRS contribution from employer

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates or greater in criminal justice or related field preferred
• Master Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Responsible for preparing and adhering to annual budget for approval by council
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software preferred
• Prepare reports for and attend monthly city council meetings 
• Background check, medical clearance, and drug testing required
• Valid Drivers License & a clean driving record a must

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Office and field environments; must be available for irregular hours, nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
May require attendance at public events, hearings, and extended incident responses.
