Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Civil Litigation Attorney based in League City, TX. The Civil Litigation Attorney will manage all aspects of cases from inception to resolution, including:
Legal research
Drafting motions
Preparing for trials
Conducting depositions
Additionally, the attorney will:
Represent clients in court
Advise on legal matters
Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies

Requirements
Role Description

Qualifications
Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
Confidence in the courtroom or an interest in developing strong courtroom presence
Litigation experience that includes at least one of the following:
- Drafting or responding to motions
- Preparing or responding to written discovery
- Taking or defending depositions
- Developing disposition strategies
- First or second chair trial experience
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
Preferred
Two years’ experience working as an attorney within a public sector agency, such as:
- A district attorney office
- A county attorney office
- A city attorney office
- An assistant attorney at a state or federal agency
- Handling appearances in state and federal court
Litigation experience in state or federal court representing:
- A local government entity and its officials and employees
Work history with a civil defense firm of any type and experience with:
- Time-keeping
- Billing practices
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand at a variable height desk for long periods of time
Ability to use computer screens and computer equipment, including mouse and keyboards, for extended periods of time
Ability to travel by car or plane for several hours at a time, from time to time
Ability to carry boxes and equipment weighing between 10 to 15 pounds, from time to time
Work Environment
Professional office environment staffed with:
- Administrative personnel
- Paralegal staff
- Other attorneys
Networked office environment that communicates with the Firm’s other offices across the State of Texas
Collegial and low-key office environment, except when work demands are pressing
Ability to work out of other Firm offices from time to time when assisting on certain matters
Pay and Benefits
Base pay negotiable, commensurate with knowledge, skills, and abilities
Bonuses:
- Performance bonus based on objective productivity criteria
- Discretionary year-end bonuses for all full-time employees on a pro-rata basis
Health Care:
- Coverage for the employee after the elimination period, with premiums paid by the Firm
- Coverage available for spouses, family, and qualifying dependents at employee’s cost

- Profit-sharing model available after elimination period
