Description
The City of Odessa is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Deputy Court Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will provide administrative, clerical, and customer service support for the Municipal Court. Responsibilities include processing legal documents and payments, assisting court clients with professionalism and courtesy, entering and maintaining accurate data in secure systems, and ensuring compliance with court procedures and confidentiality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist court clients with questions, payments, and documents.
Process legal paperwork and update secure databases.
Review cases to ensure clients meet court-ordered requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of all records and sensitive information.
Provide accurate clerical and administrative support to court staff.
Support department operations with consistent and reliable attendance.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of clerical, customer service, cashiering, or computer experience.
Knowledge of recordkeeping, bookkeeping, and basic office procedures.
Strong communication, customer service, and data entry skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and other court-related systems.
Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
Level I Court Clerk Certification (must be obtained within 2 years of hire).
Work Environment:
This position is based in a standard office and municipal court setting. It requires occasional travel (up to 3 overnight training seminars per year) and may involve some evening or weekend work.
