We proudly provide services in Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (Advanced Life Support), Rescue Services, Fire Prevention, Public Education, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Disaster Mitigation.

Salary Structure
- Lateral entry available (restrictions apply).
- Firefighter/Paramedic salary range: $76,920 - $96,677/yr + FLSA and Cert Pay
- Recruit: $69,707 - $74,679/yr
- Additional pay available for advanced certifications and education!
- TMRS Retirement Plan (Employee contributes 7% pre-tax, City provides 2 to 1 matching, vesting after 5 years, with option of retirement, at any age, with 20 years of service).
- Voluntary Deferred Compensation Plans available through MissionSquare and Nationwide.
Hiring Process

Requirements
What You Bring to the Role:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Candidates must be at least 19 years of age.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license. Candidates that do not possess a Class B Texas license must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Class B license.
- To be eligible for this application process, candidates must meet one of the following certification requirements:
- TCFP Certified Firefighter with Texas Department of Health Services EMT certification
OR - TCFP Certified Firefighter with Texas Department of Health Services Paramedic certification
OR - Texas Department of Health Services Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic Certification
OR - Be currently enrolled in a national registry paramedic program.
- TCFP Certified Firefighter with Texas Department of Health Services EMT certification
- Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification preferred but not required. Candidates not currently certified will be sent to the Fire Academy.
- Out of State Candidates may be considered, if Paramedic Certified, and the state in which they are currently certified offers reciprocity with Texas.
