- Municipal Hall/GMA Building Attendant
Description
Job Summary
Under regular supervision, performs responsible custodial and facility support work for municipal facilities, including the Greenville Municipal Auditorium (GMA) and Municipal Hall. Responsibilities include maintaining clean, safe, and orderly facilities; assisting with event and rental setup and support; securing buildings; and supporting facility operations during evening and weekend events. Position schedules may vary based on event calendars and operational needs and regularly include nights, weekends, and adjusted work schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum six (6) months of custodial, facility maintenance, event support, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid Texas Driver's License required.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, and restroom maintenance for assigned facilities.
- Maintains facility cleanliness, organization, and appearance to provide a safe and professional environment for employees, patrons, performers, renters, and visitors.
- Sets up, rearranges, and removes furniture, tables, chairs, staging, and equipment for meetings, events, performances, and facility rentals.
- Supports Municipal Hall and GMA events and rentals by providing facility coverage, customer service, and operational support as needed.
- Replenishes custodial and restroom supplies and reports inventory needs or facility issues to supervision.
- Assists with loading, unloading, transporting, and moving materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Secures facilities at the end of operating hours and reports safety, maintenance, or security concerns.
- Operates custodial equipment and tools including floor machines, extraction equipment, hand tools, and other equipment necessary to complete assigned work safely and efficiently.
- Assists with basic operation of auditorium systems including lighting, sound, and rigging systems under supervision and according to established safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to occasionally high noise levels during events and performances. Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Employee regularly moves and sets up tables, chairs, staging, custodial equipment, and supplies and may occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Position requires working evenings, weekends, and varying schedules based on operational and event needs and involves interacting with individuals displaying varying levels of emotion and urgency.
