- Part-Time Telecommunications Officer
Description
This position aims to prioritize emergency and non-emergency requests for Police and Fire Department assistance received on 911 and administrative telephone lines. This is accomplished by coordinating and dispatching appropriate responses to requests for help, providing radio and telephone communication support to Police, Fire, and other city personnel, and performing clerical duties related to Emergency Communications.

Requirements
One-year experience in either an emergency dispatch center or closely related experience in fields such as: customer service, call centers or fast paced work environments preferred.
- Able to work in a 24/7/365 emergency communications center; working during emergency events, holidays, nights, weekends, and must have flexibility in your schedule.
- Able to work under pressure, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Able to read/comprehend emergency communications manuals, books, and records.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Able to view, operate, and manage multiple computer programs and emergency communication devices concurrently through multiple computers displayed across multi-tiered monitors.
- Able to work independently in the absence of supervision.
