Are you interested in reading blueprints and navigating building codes? Join us as a Plans Examiner and be the expert who reviews construction plans, ensures code compliance, and helps guide projects smoothly from start to finish!


What You’ll Do:
Review and approve building permit applications, plans, and specifications
Meet with contractors and the public to clarify code and zoning requirements
Ensure all projects meet local building codes and ordinances
Collaborate with city officials to resolve technical issues
Maintain accurate records and support smooth departmental operations



Requirements

What You Bring:

High School Diploma/GED and 2 years’ experience reading blueprints and construction documents or the equivalent
Knowledge of building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical codes & zoningStrong communication and customer service skills
ICC Plans Examiner Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
