Requirements

Minimum Requirements 
Texas Peace Officer License in good standing. 
At least 10 years law enforcement experience is the preference 
Valid Texas driver's license. 
Ability to pass extensive background investigation. 
No felony convictions. 
No disqualifying criminal history. 

Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher. 
5 years supervisory or command experience preferred. 
Advanced or Master Peace Officer Certification. 
Experience as Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, or equivalent command officer. 
Municipal budgeting and personnel management experience. 
Experience in small-city or community-oriented policing environments. 
Physical Fitness Standards 
(Included in posting to ensure candidates understand operational expectations.) 
Applicants must be capable of: 
Running short distances during emergency response situations. 
Walking and standing for extended patrol shifts. 
Lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds. 
Dragging or assisting an incapacitated individual when necessary. 
Climbing stairs, fences, embankments, and uneven terrain. 
Operating police equipment and firearms safely. 
Successfully completing any applicable department physical readiness evaluation. 
Maintaining physical fitness consistent with active police service and emergency response duties.
