WELCOME TO THE GIDDINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT The mission of the Giddings Police Department is, in partnership with the community, to uphold the Constitution of the United States, enforce Federal, State, and Local laws, and protect the fundamental rights of all citizens. We strive to link the latest technology, qualified personnel, and proactive policing techniques to prevent crimes to the greatest extent possible, while aggressively investigate crimes and apprehending those who commit them. The Giddings Police Department is seeking applications for: FULL TIME POLICE OFFICE
You must hold a current TCOLE license.
Starting salary commensurate with experience ($58,000.00 to $65,317.42).
Additionally - TCOLE Certification pay per year - Master Certification - $4,000 Advanced Certification - $2,800. Intermediate Certification - $1,600
You must complete the TCOLE Personal History Statement and the city application
Giddings Police Department offers full time employees:
12-hour shifts, 84 hours per pay period
Shift differential pay ($1.00 per hour for night shift)
Longevity pay
Take-home car (Police Officers, upon completion of Field Training and live within 30 miles or 30 minutes of the city limits)
Tuition reimbursement (1/2 of tuition and books if job-related and approved)
All uniforms and equipment provided
100% City-paid health and life insurance for employee (Dental, vision, and dependent coverage available at employee expense)
TMRS Retirement 7%, 2-1 matching with updated service credits, 5-year vesting.
